Title: XML - creating a div element with XSLT - Lesson 12
Duration: 15 minutes
Summary: In this video, we continue our discussion of XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations). We create another XSLT file and add it to the project. Here, we are using a new feature about templates. We are displaying the data differently this time. We are not using tables. Instead, we are creating a 'div' element. In the div element we are applying different templates for isbn, title, author and comments. These templates will display the element in bold, followed by the element content. After we finish all the changes we need in the file, we add a reference to it from within our xml file. We view the XML file in the browser which displays the file after the XSLT transformation has been applied. Finally, we discuss the concept of displaying a selected books using an if condition. This concept is continued on the next video.
Methodology of the development of example: Good coding standard and simplified design to illustrate the key points.
Technology Used: XML, DTD, XSD, XSLT.
Keywords: XML, DTD (Document Type Definition), XSD (XML Schema Definition), XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation).
