Title: WCF-Lesson 1-Introduction to Windows Communication Foundation
Duration: 16 minutes
Summary: In this video we start a Windows Communication Foundation Series. WCF is a .NET API for building connected, service-oriented applications. The plan is to create multiple videos that teach all the details of WCF all the way to version 4.0 (When Visual Studio 2010 is released this April). Here, we start with a WCF library that has one method to welcome users to WCF. We create the ServiceContract, and the class that implements the interface. Then, we use the host and the client applications that come with WCF to host the service and call its method. In the upcoming videos, we create a more involved WCF service and we host it in IIS, Windows Service, and Console application.
Methodology of the development of example: Good coding standard and simplified design to illustrate the key points.
