Duration: 16 minutes
Summary: We will look at the sample application provided and dig deeper into the code. We will examine the bits and pieces of the Controller, the Model, and the View. We will walk through the code and see how an action is being executed and a final result being served to the browser. We will change some of the code using the ViewBag to store data and retrieve that data in the view. We will also explore the rest of the folders and files in the application and see their purpose. One key point in MVC is understanding how the requests get routed. We will look at Global.asax.cs and discuss the RegisterRoutes method. By the time we are done with this video, we will have a good understanding of how an ASP.NET MVC application is structured so we can use that knowledge to explore more interesting functionality in the upcoming videos.
