Summary: In this video, we will continue our jqGrid discussion by adding the searching capabilities. First we need to make sure that the pager at the bottom of the grid is active. To do so, we will add a div in the body of the page and the pager property to the grid. Then we will call the jqGrid function with a list of properties. Some of those properties actually help with adding, editing and deleting records. We turned those off, and concentrate on using the searching features (multipleSearch, showQuery, multipleGroup). We start by activating those features one at a time and see how that unfolds on the page. Searching is very powerful because it contains grouping options that help us build more complex search criteria.
Methodology of the development of example: Good coding standard and simplified design to illustrate the key points.
Technology Used: jQuery UI and Visual Studio 2010
Keyword: jQuery UI, Visual Studio 2010, jqGrid, pager, edit, add, del, multipleSearch, showQuery, multipleGroup.
