Please note that we are not only covering the 4.0 features of C#, we are also covering older features that you have not seen in previous videos using .NET 4.0. Specifically today, we are talking about creating C# programs using NotePad++ and SharpDevelop. We are stressing the fact that Visual Studio 2010 is not the only development tool that you must use. You have many options when it comes to .NET development. We will see how to create a C# file in NotePad++ and compile it from the command line. We will also see how to create a project in SharpDevelop, and how to convert the code from C# to VB.NET. This is a neat feature in SharpDevelop that comes handy is development shops where you have some code created in one .NET language and you need to convert to another.
