Summary: A measure is the most important numerical value used for quantitative analysis in a cube. With measures the analysts can understand the data, make conclusions and manipulate the members of the dimensions to aggregate or un-aggregate the data. This video shows how the measures are created from the columns in the fact table and how they are defined by the <Measure> tag in the FoodMart.xml catalog. Also, the video shows the implementation details of measures that need to be created from calculations generated by specific expressions forwarded to the database as a part of a SELECT statement.
