The Period class is the amount of time between two LocalDates.
From the Java 8, there is a new API dates available java.time package. This API is an excellent addition to standard Java libraries which was already being developed since 2007.
This new API is based on the famous JodaTime library, which was the salvation to handle dates before. The new API is not exactly the same as JodaTime, as many conceptual and implementation details have been improved.
One of the key concepts of this new API is the separation of how temporal data are interpreted in two categories: computers and humans.
