Summary: In this video, we will introduce Expression Blend 4. Expression Blend is a great design tool for WPF and Silverlight applications. You can use this tool to generate the XAML that you need for your applications. Although you can use other IDEs for generating the XAML (like Visual Studio 2010), Blend will do a much better job with the design part and creating complex animations to mention a few. Even better, you can work with Visual Studio 2010 and Blend at the same time. The project structure is the same. In other words, you can create the project in Blend, then open it in Visual Studio to complement the design with code behind (since Visual Studio does a better job with the code support), or vice-versa. As a matter of fact, that is what most developers do: have both IDEs open and switch back and forth to get the work done. Today, we will learn more about Blend and how we can use the tool. In the upcoming videos, we will dive deeper into Blend and learn more about it.
