Duration: 19 minutes
Summary: In this video, we will continue our jqGrid discussion by talking about the additional features available to the developer, and specifically how we can work with grouping. To start with, we will visit the jqGrid web site and discuss some of the grid features. For example, our pages are so far based on data coming from an array. But getting the data for the grid is not only limited to arrays on the page. We can get that data from xml and from the sever in JSON format (we will see an example of that in the upcoming videos). We will also see that we can create grids that are sub-grids of the main grid, and other grids can be created in a tree format. Finally, we will experiment with grouping data. We will turn that option on and experiment with different properties related to grouping data.
Methodology of the development of example: Good coding standard and simplified design to illustrate the key points.
Technology Used: jQuery UI and Visual Studio 2010
Keyword: jQuery UI, Visual Studio 2010,sortname, grouping, groupingView, groupField, groupText, groupCollapse, groupOrder.
