Mini-Summary: This is the first video of the Olap with open source tools course. In this video we are going to see how to download, install and configure the main components that will be used during the other videos of the course. First, the video shows where to download the five main components: Java JDK 1.6, Apache Tomcat 5.5, MySQL ODBC Driver for Windows, MySQL Community Database Server 5.5, and the Mondrian package (with JPivot) 3.2. After the download it is shown how to install these components with default values. Next, it is required to create the sample databases Foodmart and an ODBC’s System DSN to allow the application to access the data. In the end the video show how to create an application in Apache Tomcat and how to access the OLAP model through Mondrian and JPivot.
