Summary: The data cube is the most important object in a OLAP and BI project. This video show how to create a data cube in Mondrian from the expense fact table stored in the database. The catalog file FoodMart.xml is modified to insert a <Cube> tag that identifies with fact table is used among other properties. Also, the cube receive a new measure and an existing time dimension so it can be visualized with JPivot. The video demonstrate how to reload the catalog file through the stop and start of the Mondrian application inside the Apache Tomcat web server and how to write a simple MDX expression to view the cube’s data.
