Summary: One of the most important elements of a Sharepoint web site is a web part, which allows the visualization of lists of data. The default Sharepoint installation provides many customizable web parts to share data and documents, but the developer has the possibility to create from scratch new web parts. This video shows how to create a new simple web part from an existing Visual Studio.Net template and also how to build, deploy and create a package to distribute the web part as a WSP file. Once the new web part is created and imported inside the Sharepoint farm, the users can insert it inside web pages to use its features.
