Duration: 18:52 minSummary: In the video, we are proceeding with the ability to add, edit and delete records from the database. We are setting the stage for adding a new record. We are not modifying the html page yet. To start, we will add a new stored procedure to the database. This procedure will help us add a new record to the Employee table. Note that since the Id of the Employee is an identity, we will insert the record, then have the procedure return the id of the new record to the caller. After adding the proc, we will add the new function to the web service that will be called when the user tries to add a new employee. We will call this web method ModifyEmployee. An interesting fact about this function is that it will take two important parameters: The first one is “oper” which represents the operation being performed (for example ‘add’), and the second parameter is “id” which represents the id of the employee (in the case of “edit” and “del”).
